THE BARDROOM

Dear Friends
Halloween is past, a mild nip in the air gives the autumn a comfortable cloying lingering feel—and in front of us yawns the abyss. Time for another Bardroom!
This month we will be featuring new poetry by David A. Hill and fiction from Tom Bass.

Please join us at Nyitott Műhely for this wonderful evening program this Sunday, 13 November 2011 from 7:00 pm.
David A. Hill is a freelance consultant in English language and literature who has been based in Budapest since 1998. He is the author of several published short stories, as well as four collections of poetry. He will read from his latest collection Mothworld published in late 2010. David has been a regular performer at the Bardroom over the years and it is a pleasure to welcome him back.

Tom Bass has been releasing Pleasure and Progress, a novel on family, oil, and dictators, on his blog since last winter. As artistic director Tom designed the last three issues of Pilvax magazine, Hungary’s regional English-language literary periodical. He recently attended the Balassi Institute’s translation stream and he’s developing a new book on Budapest and the Danube. Much of his prose is available at: olddarkfriendsmatter.blogspot.com
As always at this month’s Bardroom we will host a spontaneous poetry contest, as well as quiz questions, prizes and more!

Entrance to the Bardroom is free and full café fare is available. Thanks and we hope to see you there!
